Perspectives is a series of intimate and candid conversations that pays homage to Angelenos from all walks of life who strive to “make it” in the city – asking them about what they love and what are their dreams.
I came up with this series (originally titled Our/Los Angeles Stories) for a local vodka brand to branch away from stereotypical alcohol marketing and create content that adds value and engages with the local community.
Due to the pandemic, the company’s marketing budget was slashed and production was shut down before the first episode was made. After the pandemic ended, I renamed the series to Perspectives, and created a pilot episode with my own time and budget as a proof of concept.
Film stills
Here are some film stills since you probably won’t have time for the full video. The mini-doc was shot over two days – one for the interview and B-roll, and one for performance footage (plus more looking for archival footage).
Full video
The original concept had a “living in LA” focus – ie what’re your favorite things about the, city etc. But in editing room, I decided to shape it into a more real and raw narrative – about life and struggles as a creative in LA.
Pitch deck
Here are a few slides from the pitch deck I created and presented for the series. Instead of the traditional deck dimensions, I went with a 16:9 aspect ratio to give the deck a cinematic feel.
